Mr. Benton has the highest credentials. In 1984, he received his Juris Doctorate, having served as Editor in Chief of the Comparative Law Yearbook and receiving the top score in Income Tax. He received his Master of Laws-Taxation from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1985. From 1985 to 1989, he was a Professor of Business Law, Accounting and Taxation at Graduate and Postgraduate level. He was admitted to U.S. Tax Court in 1987. In 1988, he represented the Appellant in the published case People v. Camillo (1988) 198 Cal.App.3d 981. In 1991, he became a California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization Certified Specialist: Estate Planning, Probate & Trust Law. From 1993 to 2003, he was a Certified Specialist Taxation Law. Over the past 30 years he has taught classes for Loriman Education Services, National Business Institute Sacramento Valley Chapter of Enrolled Agents, and others, including topics such as Planning Opportunities with Living Trusts in California and California Probate: Beyond the Basics, Family Limited Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies in California. He also taught Estate Planning Tools of the ‘90s Advanced Estate Planning Techniques in California, Tax Aspects of Estate Planning, Estate Planning and Retirement Plans, and Probate Accounting for Accountants. Mr. Benton continues to teach as Ski instructor.
